Profiles in Black Miami (PIBM) is an organization aimed at chronicling the History of Black Miami from the latter part of the 19th century to the current day.
Its purpose is to educate the public through a series of documentary films and public events.
PIBM has three operational functions
- A Research Organization
- A Documentary Film Production Company
- An Event Organization Company
PIBM was created as a volunteer research organization in 2017 by three CBS Miami colleagues Keith Moore (middle), Christine Malcolm (right) and AnnMarie Henry (left).
The creation of PIBM grew out of a need for greater awareness of and access to media coverage and information about the history of Black Miami.
PIBM incorporated as a not-for-profit organization on July 5, 2023 and is also registered with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services to accept donations.
